About mica.digital

An unofficial, independent MiCA register toolkit in the spirit of classic MiFID-era LEI lookup tools.

What this is

mica.digital downloads the publicly published ESMA CSV files for CASPs, NCASP / flagged entities, and white papers (ART / EMT / other), stores them in SQLite, and offers search-first browsing plus a small JSON API.

Not affiliated with ESMA, EBA, the European Union, or any national competent authority. No EU emblem or ESMA logos are used.

Methodology

  • Source CSVs are fetched from ESMA published file URLs (see cli/sync.php).
  • CSV fields are parsed with PHP fgetcsv (quoted fields handled).
  • LEIs are normalised to 20 alphanumeric characters, uppercase; trailing dots stripped.
  • CASP rows sharing the same LEI are merged: services and passport countries are unioned.
  • Service letters a–j are extracted from ESMA ac_serviceCode text.
  • Sync metadata (synced_at, row counts) is stored in sync_meta.

Weekly lag and interim register

ESMA public CSVs and interim register may update on a different cadence than live NCA decisions. This site may lag the official source by up to about a week (or longer if sync is not run). Authorisations, withdrawals and NCASP flags can change between syncs.

Until ESMA full production register tooling matures, treat the interim CSV-based register as a convenience index — always verify on ESMA and with the relevant NCA.

UK FCA is not MiCA

The United Kingdom is not in the EEA MiCA regime. FCA cryptoasset registration or other UK permissions are not MiCA authorisations and do not appear as CASP passporting rights under Regulation (EU) 2023/1114. Do not confuse UK listings with EU MiCA status.
